Born in Croatia on an island off of the Dalmatian Coast, his beloved “Otok Ugljan” (Island of Ugljan) was always in his heart. He built a home there and visited regularly. William loved to fish, play cards, sing and tell jokes. He was always the life of our family parties with his booming voice and contagious laugh, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Their “Dido” (Grandpa) was their best friend. William was a retired steelworker who worked at Wisconsin Steel Works on the Southeast side of Chicago. When the plant shut down, he worked maintenance in Hyde Park, He retired from there at age 60. Services for Mr. Rebac are private.
