Vasiliki “Vaso” Poulos, 82, (nee Seretis) fell asleep peacefully at her home with
her family by her side on December 8th, 2022.
Vaso was born on October 14, 1940 in Spata, Greece to Katina and Thanasis
Seretis.
Vaso was the beloved wife of Nikolas “Niko” Poulos whom she married on June
12, 1966. They enjoyed 56 years together. She was the matriarch and foundation
of her family.
Vaso was a devoted mother to Spiro (Tammy) Poulos and Maria (Jack)
Cunningham and loving Yiayia to Nicholas and Mya Poulos, and Sofia and Ava
Cunningham, along with D’Andre and Ciara Jerman. She was the beloved sister
of the late Adonis (Litsa) Seretis and dear Thea to many nieces and nephews.
Vaso held a special place in her heart for her grand fur-babies, Benny and Daisy.
In 1970, Vaso immigrated to the Chicagoland area. She was a devoted member
of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church of Olympia Fields, IL. Vaso worked
tirelessly as a member of both the Parish Council and The Ladies Philoptochos
Society where she served as a past president.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 10:30
a.m. at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 15625 South Bell Road, Homer
Glen, IL, with the service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at Chapel
Lawn Cemetery, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Assumption Philoptochos Society of Homer
Glen would be appreciated.
Vaso will be truly missed by all those that love her. She will forever be in our
hearts. May her memory be eternal.
