Thaddeus “Ted” Michael Mazurski, 95, WWII US Marine Corps Veteran, passed away on June 6, 2023. Ted is survived by the love of his life Constance “Connie” (née Gnojek). They were married in 1952 and true to their vows, they were together by each other’s side through their 71 years of marriage. Ted was born in Chicago on September 26, 1927 to the late Michael and Margaret Mazurski. He was brother to the late John Mazurski, late Helen Richardson and Diana Krawczyk. Ted and Connie raised 6 children - Ted (Melanie) Mazurski, Tom (Joanne) Mazurski, Mary Brittian, Michael (Eileen) Mazurski, John (Hunter Mills) Mazurski and Bob (Julie) Mazurski. His sense of humor and endless memories live on through his 11 grandchildren - Erik (Dina), James (Melita), Paul (Mariafe), Sean (Victoria), Lauren (Matthew), Lindsey (Dustin), Eddie (Stephanie), Steven (Ally), Jamie, Kelly and Lia - and 14 great grandchildren. Ted was a man of family, faith and country. He served in the 6th and 1st Divisions of the United States Marine Corps during WWII and the Korean War. Most knew him throughout his life as “Yaboo”, a nickname acquired from the Marines. He was a carpenter by trade and inventor of the Boombass. In his younger years, Ted loved wrestling. “Bronco”, as they called him in high school, competed in the 1945 Illinois State Wrestling Championship on behalf of Kelly High School and also wrestled during his time with the USMC. Ted was a master of dad jokes and lighthearted mischief. He had kind blue eyes and a subtle laugh that made his shoulders shrug. He was loyal, hardworking and strong willed. He was also inconspicuously sensitive and sweet. Ted lived a simple, full life. In lieu of flowers, cut your lawn, decorate your mailbox and fly your American flag in Ted’s honor.
