Stephen Lewis Stout, 66, passed away at his home Friday, April 7th, 2023 following a fall.
Steve was born July 31st, 1956, to Marian Ruth (Kiefer) Stout and William Leslie Stout in Joliet, Illinois. He graduated from Lockport Central High School in 1974, and in 1976 started working for Commonwealth Edison (now Midwest Generation). Steve was a dedicated worker and remained with the company until 2011; just over 30 years.
Steve was charismatic, and he loved to make people laugh. He loved the Bears, White Sox, nature, golf, fishing, and enjoyed watching and comparing movies throughout the decades. His daughters will always cherish fond memories from their younger years, such as watching The Three Stooges together, listening to him talk about his favorite movie, “Dances with Wolves,” having him attend school events and various sports, and making his famous, homemade pizza and lasagna together.
Steve, in his soul, was a sensitive and bright light, but that light dimmed and fought against darkness in his later years. May the memories of who he truly was at heart shine brightest.
Steve is survived by his two brothers, Robert Stout and Craig (Shan) Stout; his daughters, Melanie (Chris) Houchens and Stefanie Stout; his nephews Brett (Venera) Stout, Jacob (Kim) Stout, and Matt Stout; and many other family and friends that cared for him and supported him during different seasons of his life.
Steve is preceded in death by his mother, Marian Ruth (Kiefer) Stout, and father, William Leslie Stout.
Services will not be held; Steve will be cremated per his wishes.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the World Wildlife Fund or African Wildlife Foundation.
