Sharon J. Duehr

Sharon J. Duehr nee Kohl, age 83, late of Mokena, IL, passed away peacefully December 21, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Melvin Duehr. Loving mother of Dianna (Art) Smoljan. Cherished grandmother of Michael (Annie) Smoljan and Lindsay (David) Perry. Cherished great-grandmother of John Smoljan. Caring sister of the late Robert (Elaine) Kohl and Leslie (Carol McNichols) Kohl. Caring sister-in-law Helen Duehr, Mitz (the late JoEllen) Duehr and the late Don (Bernice) Duehr. Loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. Dear daughter of the late Herbert and Lillian Kohl. Sharon was a homemaker, had a passion for gardening and plants, loved all animals, rescuing many cats (including Kitty), and feeding the birds. Sharon was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed sharing that passion by helping others when she worked for Minnesota Fabrics. She was a devoted grandmother, and great grandmother.

Visitation, Tuesday, December 27, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19604 Wolf Rd. Mokena, IL 60448. Interment will follow at Christ Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Lightways Hospice in Joliet, IL, or TLC Animal shelter.
