Roy Lee Walker Sr.
January 8, 1941 - April 9, 2025
Roy Lee Walker Sr., age 84, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with COPD. Born on January 8, 1941, in Beckley, West Virginia, to Vivian and Elmer Walker Sr., Roy was a man whose strength, faith, and loyalty left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Roy was a proud and decorated veteran, serving his country with honor in the United States Army. Serving as a Tank Commander stationed in Germany, he rose to the rank of Command Sergeant Major, embodying leadership, discipline, and unwavering dedication. Beneath his rough and formidable exterior was a deeply compassionate man, devoted to his family and rooted in a strong and enduring faith in God.
On June 3, 1961, Roy married the love of his life, Alice E. Moran. Together they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories for almost 60 years, until her passing on March 31, 2020. Their bond was one of enduring love and partnership, a true testament to their devotion.
Roy was a man of many passions. He was an avid bowler and found joy in collecting coins, treasuring each piece for its history and meaning. But his greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his loving children, Tammy Alberico and Roy Lee (Brenda) Walker Jr., and his cherished grandchildren: Jordan (Chris) Roman, Dominic (Grace Lardi) Alberico, Brian (Megan) Walker, and Kevin Walker. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Carmella, Lucas, and Lino, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
Roy held a special place in his heart for his niece Robin Healy and nephew Richard Walker, who were like his own. His strength, guidance, and steadfast presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Though Roy has now been reunited with his beloved Alice, his legacy lives on through his family and the many lives he touched. He was a true soldier, a faithful servant, and a loving patriarch.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
May he rest in peace, embraced in the arms of the Lord.
