Rolena M. Merrick

Rolena Mae Merrick, age 89, late of Mokena, IL formally of Argo, IL passed away peacefully February 1, 2022. Rolena was born in Towanda, IL to the late Byron & Edna Mae Hill. Beloved wife for 60 years of Robert; loving and devoted mother of David & Milly Merrick, Debbie & Jack Nicely, Robert L Merrick and Steven Merrick. Cherished grandmother of Christopher and Stephanie Merrick, Alexandra and Benjamin Litvinas, William Merrick, Nicholas Beebe, Nathan (Rachel) Beebe, Johnathan and Lindsey Paskiewicz, Jacob Nicely, Kadie Nicely and Matthew Nicely. Great Grandmother of Samuel and Margot Merrick and Eleanor Rolena Paskiewicz and Wylie Robert Lee Beebe. Caring sister of the late Byron Hill and Robert Hill. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Rolena attended Joliet Junior College, she worked for the Rock Island Rail Road in Chicago for many years. She was known for her bubbly kind presence and lover of Fleckenstein donuts. Visitation February 11th, 2022, 3:00-8:00 PM. Funeral service will be at Vandenberg Funeral Home 19604 Wolf Road Mokena, IL 60448.
