Robert J. Seery

Robert J. Seery, loving and deeply loved husband of the late Mary Lou Seery, devoted father of Mary Pat (Michael) Flaherty, Robert (Darcy), Pam Seery, Rose Horan (Randy Barthel), Mark (Leigh) and Matthew (Mary). Amazing Grandpa of Katie (Colin) Dill, Grace, Mary Clare and Michael Flaherty; Ashley, John and Olivia Seery; Robert (Sarah), Amanda (Kate) and Zachary Borvan; Caleigh, Nolan, Kevin and Liam Horan; and Julia, Patrick and Cameron Seery. Brother of the late Tom (Kay) and Jean (the late Russ) Weaver. Bob was born to Tom and Edna Seery in 1931 and grew up in Chicago. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as an M.P. in Berlin during the Korean War. Always mechanically inclined, Bob went from tinkering on cars with his friends to working on, and eventually designing, railroad cars. His education having been interrupted by the Army, marriage and 6 kids, Bob earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Purdue University in 1981. Bob’s model-building and woodworking skills were legendary and lavishly shared with family and friends. His strong faith in God, tenacity, ingenuity and deep love for his wife and family has provided his children and grandchildren with a shining example of how to live a good and purposeful life. His funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday December 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Church in Tinley Park. The Mass will be livestreamed; for details go to https://asimplestreaming.com/seery .
