Robert Hammond

Robert R. Hammond, 78, of Homer Glen, IL, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2021. Beloved husband of Pam (née Morrow); Loving father of Lori (John) Pehler and Bob (Renee) Hammond; Proud grandfather (“Papa”) to Emily, Lauren, Brianna, Leah and Abby. Born in Chicago, the only child of the late Robert Sr. and Annese. Bob attended Morgan Park High School and graduated from Kentucky Weslyan. He also served in the US Army. Having retired from computer sales for almost three decades, he was an avid Chicago sports fan and devoured the news. Bob always had a gift for gab, enjoyed discussing current events and sharing his wealth of knowledge with his children and grandchildren while always providing a quiet strength, endless guidance and support. Most recently he enjoyed afternoons at the pool near his Florida winter residence with friends in Talon Bay. His family always enjoyed visiting him in Florida, looked forward to his arrival back home in suburban Chicago and annual trips to be with family in South Carolina. He always had a smile, a joke and an easy laugh. He will be missed dearly by his family.
