Raymond F. Fessler, age 83, late of Tinley Park, IL. Born Aug 14, 1938. Passed peacefully on May 22, 2021. Husband of Joyce Madala. Proud father to Joe (Dore), John (Mary Kay) and Nicole. Loving Papa to Ryan, Stephanie, Steven, Quinn, Jenna, Kylie, and Makena. Cherished brother of Nancy Lopez and the late Sharon Thompson.
In the late ‘50s, Ray enlisted in the army where he served his country as a Military Police Officer. That experience landed him a job as a police officer for the city of Blue Island. He ventured upon one of his many talents as a Union Carpenter. He was a true believer that duct tape could fix anything! He then began his career in 1980 as a Building Commissioner where he spent the first 5 years in Blue Island, then the next 23 years in Tinley Park. He retired from the village in 2008.
Ray is fondly remembered for being a supportive and loving father and grandfather. He was an avid Bears fan, loved to fish and share his “fish stories”, and always had a corny joke or two to tell. He will be deeply missed by all those that knew him.
