Mary Kay Riley, known as Susie to most age 74, late of Orland Park, IL, passed away unexpectedly February 28, 2022, at her home. A lifelong member of St. George Parish, she was a graduate of St. George Elementary School, Marian High School and the University of Saint Francis. Susie was a first-grade teacher at St. George for many years, teaching alongside her mother who taught in the junior high. She joined the banking community after teaching and was enjoying her much-anticipated retirement. She enjoyed many harmonious years in the Saint George Choir, and rarely missed daily Mass. She is survived by her daughter, Susan, sisters Linda Brierre of Chicago and Marien (David) Kyzner of Ranson, West Virginia, her brother John (Sue) Riley of Burr Ridge, uncle Bob (Joan) Morrey of Lemont, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom could expect a birthday song from Susie on their voicemail every year. Visitation will be from 3:00- 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 6 at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 17248 Harlem Ave, Tinley Park. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Monday, March 7 at St. George Church, 6707 W. 175th St., Tinley Park, with Father Paul Seaman president. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Right to Life movement, a cause near and dear to Susie’s heart.
