Weitendorf, Marvin W. Age 86 born September 24, 1925 to Fred and Esther (Carlson) Weitendorf, at rest May 25, 2012 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Marvin is a United States WWII Veteran of the Navy. He served in the Pacific Theater, and was aboard an LSM Naval Carrier during the invasion of Okinawa. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Lois Ebert and brother, Fred Weitendorf. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Violet Weitendorf (nee Hurley; his daughter, Jill Weitendorf; godson, Gary Ebert of Pewaukee, WI; niece, Helen Simpkinsof Frankfort, IL and many nieces and nephews. Marvin was a member of the Mokena VFW post 725, a member of the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Advisory Board, the Mokena Village board, St. John's United Church of Christ and the Lincoln Way High School Strategic Planning Committee that planned the building of Lincoln Way East High School. He worked for Amoco Oil for 33 years retiring in 1986
