Martha J. Saltzman

Martha J. Saltzman nee Thomas, age 71, late of Mokena, IL. Beloved wife of Earl Saltzman. Loving mother of Cathleen (late Doug) Wolff and Michael (Laura) Saltzman. Proud grammy of Riley. Caring and loving cousin, and aunt to many cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Cartwright and Frieda Thomas. Martha began her nursing career at 18 years of age; caring for patients at South Chicago Hospital, Wesleyan Memorial Hospital, Ingalls Hospital. She retired from nursing after 32 years ending her career at Oak Forest Hospital as Head nurse in "C" Building 2nd floor. She received numerous awards for work Ethics & safety. She truly cared for the people she assisted throughout her healthcare career. Lying in State, Monday, December 7, 2015, 10:00 AM until time of Service 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mokena. Interment in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation Sunday December 6, 2015, 2:00-8:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19604 S. Wolf Road, Mokena, IL. 60448.
