Martha (Marcy) Jean Davis, of Orland Hills, IL, peacefully passed away in her sleep during the early hours of Sunday, November 14, 2021. She was seventy-one.
A profoundly charitable person, Marcy was the quintessential stay-at-home mother, homemaker, and family matriarch. She had a tremendous gift for nurturing children. The words most often used by family and friends to describe her life mirror who she was as a person: faithful, loving, strong, honest, determined, kind, unique, and inspirational. Marcy dispensed love and compassion at will to family, friends, and strangers alike.
As a survivor of breast cancer, Marcy was passionate about breast cancer awareness and loved to participate in charity walks. She proudly wore pink and cherished every opportunity to speak with and learn from other cancer survivors. Marcy also became a strong advocate for those with autism when it touched her family. She always believed in defending the ones she loved.
Marcy’s loving heart was unconditional and eternal. She was an inspiration to all who have known her love and were touched by her kindness. May her soul rest in peace in the heavenly kingdom of God.
Marcy was predeceased by her parents, William Frederick Drish and Martha Hellen (Trapp) Drish. She was surrounded by family during her last days, holding hands in prayer—a blessing for which all who participated are eternally grateful. Heroically, Marcy’s daughter, Jennifer Helen, never left her bedside, providing comfort and compassion throughout her final moments.
Marcy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of forty-nine years, Charles (Chuck) Robert Davis. Her four children and their spouses: son, Kevin William Davis, and Lia Levreau-Davis; son, Brian Paul Davis, Sr, and Jennifer L. Davis; son, Timothy Michael Davis, and Amy Davis; daughter Jennifer Helen (Davis) Bielski, and Jeff Bielski. Her seven adoring grandchildren: Monica, Ryan (and his wife, Alexandra who is with child), Arianna, Savanna, Sieanna, Brian, Jr; and Elizabeth. Elder brother William F. Drish, Jr. Sister-in-law, Sara Howaniec, and family. Kathy Baur, and family; Linda Pallecone, and family; Karen Kedziora, and family; Marie Kviz; Paty Rivera; and countless friends who were touched by Marcy’s boundless grace.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, November 21, 2021, from 3:00—7:00pm, at Vandenberg Funeral Home (17248 Harlem Ave, Tinley Park, IL). A celebration of Marcy’s life will be held next summer.
