Lynda Marie Boggio Hawkins

Lynda Marie Boggio Hawkins, age 65, late of Tinley Park, Illinois passed away September 3, 2023, at her home.

Lynda was born on December 17, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois to John and Diane (O’Brien) Boggio, Jr. She graduated from Tinley Park High School in 1976. She attended Illinois Benedictine College and graduated with a B.A. in Accounting in 1980.

Lynda inherited a love of music and a beautiful singing voice from her mother. She was always singing - in choirs, with family gathered around the piano, or along with the stereo.

Lynda married Robert L. Hawkins, Jr. on March 19, 1994. He was the love of her life. Robert preceded her in death on March 6, 2018. She loved traveling with her husband and spending time with family and friends. Lynda loved animals and doted over their dogs, including Tia and Duke.

Lynda worked at CarMax of Tinley Park since it opened in 1998. She was a Wholesale Auction Administrator and handled the weekly car auctions for several years. She later became a Business Office Associate until she retired in 2022.

Lynda is survived by her sister, Susan (Richard) Widdowson in Naperville, Illinois (and their children Heath, Katrina, Porscha, and Brittany); her step-children Danny (Katie) Hawkins, Michael (Norma) Hawkins, and Katie (Kevin) Reed, 14 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, John.

Funeral Mass, Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Julie Billiart Roman Catholic Church in Tinley Park, Illinois; doors will be open at 9:30am. Luncheon to follow.
