-Kenneth John Matthiesen, 82, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Parkview Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN.
Mr. Matthiesen was born August 6, 1937 in Chicago, IL to Christie and Margaret (Borchert) Matthiesen and lived in the area for 17 years, coming from Mokena, IL. He was a retired foreman for Safety Kleen in Chicago.
On March 14, 1956 in Chicago, Kenneth was married to the former Nancy Gurgel. Surviving are his wife, Nancy; three daughters, Donna Barnaby, Sharon (Steve) Lindstrom and Patricia Matthiesen; three sons, Dennis Matthiesen, David (Mary Lou, dec)Matthiesen and Donald (Kimberly) Matthiesen; eight grandchildren, Jason (Jenny), Michael, Jimmy, Angelia, Timothy, Jason, Dennis Jr., and Katelyn; and four great-grandchildren, Jason Jr., Alexander, Olivia and Jacob.He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Memorial visitation will be held Sunday December 15, 2019 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home 19604 S. Wold Rd, Mokena, IL.
