Kathleen M. Lauffer

Kathleen M. Lauffer, born March 28, 1947, passed away July 15, 2015. Kathleen M. (Egle) Lauffer, age 68 of Plainfield, Illinois passed away after a brief battle with cancer on July 15, 2015 at Silver Cross Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Survived by her husband Wayne 49 years. Parents, Dwight and Wilma Egle. Loving children Annette Lauffer, Duane (Arlene) Lauffer, Amy (Chris) Covington, Alicia (Ryan) Lauffer, brother Jerry (Meri) Egle, sister Bobi (Steve) Hicks, brother Pete (Bobbi) Egle, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends. She will be greatly missed by her dog Nacho. Preceded in death by her in-laws, Shorty and Alma Lauffer, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Born in Wauneta, Nebraska, and presently made their home for the past 41 years in Plainfield, Illinois. Kathy was a 1965 graduate of Lincoln Way High School. She worked at J.C. Penney and Amerifed Bank for many years. Kathy was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Joliet. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Messiah Lutheran Church, 19901 S. Houbolt Road, Joliet, Illinois 60431 would be appreciated. Visitation will be Sunday July 19, 2015 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19604 S. Wolf Road, Mokena, Illinois 60448. Funeral services 11:00 AM at Messiah Lutheran Church 19901 S. Houbolt Road, Joliet. Interment to follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Mokena, Illinois.
