Recently retired from Little Al’s Mokena Inn after 30 years. Proceeded in Death by her Loving Husband Robert E. Burke, Son James R Speedwell, Parents Elizabeth and
Phillip Melton, and her Brother John Melton. Survived by her children and Step children, Jill Tafoya; Cheryl Mattsey , Jeff; Joseph Speedwell; Jennifer Fredette, Michael; Lynne Feeney, Mike; Kevin Burke; Colleen Zummerchik; Megan Dawson, Karl. “Nona” will be missed by her beloved Grandchildren, Hillary Kurzawa, Joe; Matthew Gross, Casey; Brian Gross; Madalyn Eathington, Adam; Kevin Speedwell, Zachary Speedwell; Oliva Mattsey; Myles Mattsey; Emmet Zummerchik, Ava Zummerchik; Abagail Feeney, Quinn Feeney. Great Grandchildren, Belle, Beau, Vivian & Levi Brother and Sisters, Noelle Rodgers, Doug; Patricia Melton; Phillip Melton, Billie; Deborah Wheeler, Bill.
Karen loved crossword puzzles, Jeopardy and she was a Proud Conservative. Karen’s Warm Smile, Generous Fun Loving Spirit and Motherly Support will be missed by all who knew her. In Lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude’s Children’s
Hospital would be appreciated. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be take place in her memory, Saturday, December 19, 2020, at St. Mary Church Mokena at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Mokena.
