June Beno

June Margaret (Riezinger) Beno, a long-time resident of Markham/Posen Area, passed away Monday the 23rd of September at age 86.
June was born July 2, 1933 in Chicago to John Henry Riezinger and Luella Adell Koopman. On October 8, 1955 she entered in to marriage to Stephen Beno at Markham Lutheran Church, Markham, Illinois.
She worked a variety of jobs throughout her life. Her most rewarding job was at Ace Hardware of Oak Forest, Illinois where she was an office manager/bookkeeper. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid bowler, loved the casinos, and was a lifelong Cubs fan who was elated when her Cubs won the World Series.
She is survived by her children, Karen (Bruce) Balke, Stephen (Amy) Beno, Cynthia (David) Gerdez, grandchildren, Stephen (Amanda) Gerdez, Scott (Beth) Gerdez, Matthew (Cassie) Beno, Brett Balke, Michael Beno and Maxwell Beno, great-grandchildren Logan Gerdez, Connor Gerdez, Cora Gerdez, Tyler Beno and Brynley Beno, sister Linda (Robert) Belcher, brother John Riezinger, dearest best friend Lorraine Peterson, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister Betty (Edward) Scheibe, and brother Terry Riezinger.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. with Services following Thursday, September 26th, at the Vandenberg Funeral Home, Rev. Larry Schneekloth will officiate. Interment will be in the Skyline Memorial Park, Monee, Illinois. Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Gerdez, Scott Gerdez, Matthew Beno, Brett Balke, Michael Beno and Maxwell Beno
