The beloved JOYCE MARIE VOGEL, 77, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ, Sunday, March 17, 2024, while surrounded by her family. She was born on June 25, 1946, the daughter of Coletta and Anthony Vasios of Chicago, Il. Joyce married Thomas L. Vogel, Sr. on November 6, 1965. Their marriage began while Thomas was serving in the US Army and was stationed overseas in Germany. After many years of active service, they settled in the south side of Chicago to raise their family. Joyce held many positions during her lifetime, but the most important to her was her role as a mother and grandmother. She was an inspiration to her family and friends through her example of unselfish love, determination and faith. Her endless energy and strong will was present even until her last days. Joyce’s strong will made her a survivor, battling cancer for over 30 years. This experience led Joyce to become a constant source of encouragement and support to numerous others who were fighting a similar battle. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Hinsdale and husband Matthew; her son Thomas L Vogel, Jr. and his wife Lauren; her son Patrick Vogel and his wife Jamika, and her grandchildren, Lillia, MaCallan, Teddy, Jada and Jenna. In addition to her immediate family, Joyce was a mother figure to many others and will be missed by all.
