Joseph M. Tholl Sr. passed peacefully in the presence of family. Beloved husband of Marianne M. nee Badali for 60 yrs. Loving father of Joseph, Michael (Diane), Catherine (Jonathan) Nordstrom, Timothy (MaryKay), Bruce (Kathleen), Paul (Kelly) and Bonnie Tholl. Revered grandfather of Kathleen, Jaclyn, Lauryn, Brian, Bradley (Sarah), Brianna, Jestine, Mitchell, Timothy, Anthony, Joseph, Nathaniel, Jacob, Kaitlin, August, Nina, Hannah and Samuel. Caring brother of Rose Jacobsen and the late Dolores Scheidel, James, John, Jerry and Mercedes Hurt. Funeral Thursday December 18, 2014 9:30 from the Vandenberg Funeral Home 17248 S. Harlem Ave. Tinley Park, IL. 60477 to St. George Church Mass 10:00 AM. Interment in Holy Sepulchre. Joseph treasured the countless relationships formed with the athletes he coached through his involvement with the Tinley Park Bulldog and Orland Park Pioneer youth organizations. In addition, he was recognized as one of the founders of the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation. A man of faith, he cherished the friendship forged through his involvement as a member of St. George Church Parish in Tinley Park for 56 yrs. He was furthermore a proud member of the Local 130 Plumbers Union for 59 yrs. Joseph served from 1951-1954 in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Some of his fondest memories included holiday gatherings, sporting events and time spent watching his family grow. Having his family close brought him the greatest joy and made him smile the most.
