John E. Storey Iii

John E. Storey III, age 72, of New Lenox passed away May 9, 2023. US Army Veteran of the 82nd Airborne. Beloved husband Nancy Storey nee Williams; loving father of Sandy Metler and the late Nicholas Storey; proud grand dog dad of Pierre; caring brother of Lynn Chapman, Judy (Bruce) Sokol, Brad (Pam) Storey, and Paula (Gary) Adams; dear son of the late John and Lois Storey; uncle and friend to many.
John was a bricklayer for 15 years then went to the University of Illinois to receive a bachelor’s in actuarial science with status of Magna Cum Laude and became an actuary. John enjoyed cycling, sailing, was an avid reader and an Amazon connoisseur. Visitation Monday May 15, 2023, from 2 - 8 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home 19604 Wolf Rd, Mokena, IL 60448. Interment & Military Honors will take place Tuesday 12 PM at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Hickey Memorial Chapels (815) 485-8697.
