John A. Mackowiak Jr.

d. January 4, 2015

John A. Mackowiak Jr. passed away on Sunday after a brief illness. He was born in Chicago in 1926 and served as a Combat Veteran in WWII. He leaves a wife of 64 years Theresa, and four adult children, Mariellen, Kathy, Bruce and John. There are also 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Dad’s life was another example of the “Greatest Generation”. All the challenges of survival in war and peace were met and a good life lived. He provided well for us all and did so without complaint about his lot in life. He carved peace and prosperity from the environment of South Chicago. We are grateful for what he gave and the memories he left us.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 9, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mokena, 9:30 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 AM.
