John Doogan, 58 of Tinley Park, passed away Wednesday September 25, 2019 while in the care of Hospice at Palos Community Hospital.
A celebration of his life will take place on Thursday, October 3rd at 10:00 AM at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19604 Wolf Road, Mokena, IL. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Hahn officiating. Visitation Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 3:00-8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
John was born on December 20, 1960, in Harvey, Illinois and raised in Mokena. He graduated from Lincoln Way high school in 1979 and married The former Caren Kreml on December 20, 1980
John is survived by his 3 beautiful daughters, Becky Doogan ( Ryan Murphy) Amy and Corey Brandau, and Emily Doogan (Mark Denning). John is blessed to have 2 grandchildren, Aidan Murphy (11) and Ella Denning (3 months)
John has 5 brothers and sisters, Bill and wife Lynne Doogan, Sandra Donovan husband Terry, Dan and wife Veva Doogan, Marla Krippel and husband Bill, and Louise Vainowski and her husband Jim. Proud uncle of 19, and numerous cousins and great nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his parents William C. Doogan and Louise (Kuipers)
John enjoyed riding his bike and walking the Old Plank Trail in Frankfort and was a proud lifetime member of Local 150 Operating Engineers which he retired from in January of this year.
