Jane Cerullo, age 100, passed away peacefully at her home while on Hospice, on Thursday July 25, 2019. Jane was born August 22, 1918 in Blue Island to Carmella and Conio Corradino. She grew up with her nine siblings on the east side of Blue Island and lived on York Street where she resided at the time of her passing. She and her husband, the late Joe Cerullo Sr., married on January 29, 1939 at St. Donatus Church where they remained lifelong parishioners.
Jane worked most of her life at Libby’s in Blue Island and then at Coe Laboratories, Inc. in Alsip where she retired at 70 years of age. A fulltime job was never enough for her, so she and some of her sisters often worked on weekends, waitressing for her niece’s business, Arlene’s Catering. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 71 years, her son Joe Jr. and daughter in-law Janet; sisters Clara, Dorothy, Lucille, Rose and identical twin Mary; brothers Daniel, Albert, and Michael. She is survived by her daughters Irene (Richard) Narcisi of Shererville, IN and Rosemarie (Chuck) Ulrich of Blue Island; seven grandchildren Rick (Jean) Narcisi, Cindy (Mike) Parker, Karyn (Jayme) Narcisi, Kevin Ulrich, Christine (Rudy) Chico, Jeff Cerullo and Jorrie Cerullo; great grandchildren Nick Narcisi, Mia Narcisi, Delaney Parker, Abigale Parker, Ava Chico and Naomi Chico. Jane is also survived by her brother Arthur Corradino and her caregiver Chuka Dash.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral mass at 12:00 PM on Monday, July 29th at St. Donatus Church in Blue Island.
