Beloved husband of Carol L See (nee Robinson); loving father of Stephani (Cory) Hammen, Cory (Lyle) Stoflet, and James (Lauren) See Jr.; loving stepfather of Christine Bailey, Kevin (Jennifer) Pooley, and Ronny Pooley Jr.; proud grandfather of Finley Stoflet, Nora See, Evelyn Stoflet, Paige Hammen, Leo See, Sebastian Bailey, Wyatt Pooley, Zachary Bailey, Hanna Pooley, Kyle Pooley, and Brenden Pooley; dear brother of Michael (Cindy) See, and the late Robert See Jr., Patricia See, and Joseph See; cherished son of the late Dorothy (nee O’Brien) and Robert See; dear uncle and friend of many.
Jim loved playing softball. Playing in USSA and SPA organizations across the USA, winning 2 National and 1 World Championships. He was also an avid fisherman, bowler (once bowling a 300 game), and loved being active in sports. He worked hard, earning his living as a truck driver who was out before dawn each day. His dedication allowed him to pass on those skills to his son by teaching him to drive commercial trucks. He was a proud retired member of the Teamsters Union. He instilled a love of nature and the outdoors in his children by leading them on camping adventures and memorable vacations. Always up for a family gathering and never missing his grandchildren's birthdays. Like the water on which he loved so much to fish, he was quiet but constant. His heart of gold rested beneath his ever so strong surface. He was a rock. He was, still water.
Visitation Monday April 3, 2023, from 2 – 8 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home 19604 Wolf Rd. Mokena, IL 60448. Funeral Tuesday 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
