Passed suddenly in his home late evening August 27 2022. Born June 30, 1940 to James & Lela (Morris) Nichols of Tuscumbia AL. (Predeceased) Also predeceased by his precious son James "Lil Rat" Nichols Jr., brothers William Ellis Nichols, Clayburn Nichols, Kenneth Nichols, and sisters Birdie Lee Nichols & Irene Nichols. Survived by granddaughter Jennifer Nichols & great granddaughter Lucy Lynn, step son Mark Rivera with his beautiful family & loving mother Tina Rivera, brothers Don (Elouise) Nichols, Tom Nichols, & sisters Margie (Johnny) Pittman & Methel Shobe. He was loved by many nieces/nephews, friends, and anyone who crossed his path. Honored military having served in the air force. Valued member of the American Legion Hazel Crest 615, Riders Club Tinley American Legion, Hunting Creek Club AL., and his community near or far. In lieu of flowers, please make donations at either service; Wed Sept 21 3-8pm Vandenberg funeral home Tinley Park && Thursday Sept 22 3-8pm American Legion Hazel Crest, for funeral expenses.
