James J. Gress, age 79, late of Mokena, IL, passed away October 22, 2023. U.S Army Veteran. Long-time parishioner of St. Mary Church in Mokena, IL. James and Patricia were season ticket holders to the Joliet Slammers for 22 years. James enjoyed traveling. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Beloved husband of Patricia Gress nee Madden for 54 years. Loving father of Brian Gress, Keith (Denise) Gress, and Amy (Greg) Goberville. Cherished grandfather of Kody, Nicholas (Paige), Elizabeth, DJ (Austin), and Taylor. Caring brother of Eleanor (late Jim) White, Eugene (Vicki) Gress, Ronnie (Jean) Gress, Bobbie (the late Janet) Gress, Patty (Marsha) Gress, Darlene (Mike) Pudzimis, Georgie Gress, the late Dolores (the late Joe) LoPresti, the late Andrew (Patricia) Gress, the late Charles Gress, and the late Lennie Gress. Dear son of the late Andrew and Adeline Gress. Charming uncle of numerous nieces, nephews, and friend of many.

Prayers at the Funeral Home, Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. to St. Mary Church for 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass, 19515 115th Ave. Mokena, IL 60448.
