Jack R, Mozzi, 72 years, of Mokena, Illinois died Monday, August 8, 2016 at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet. Jack was born December 27th, 1943 in Chicago Illinois to John Henry Mozzi and Ruth Naomi (Taylor) Mozzi.
He grew up in Chicago and graduated from Calumet High School in 1962. He served in the United States Marine Corps from December 30th, 1963 to December 16th, 1966 during the Vietnam War. Jack married Terry Lee Neilson on November 23, 1968. He was employed by Illinois Bell and as the company changed hands he remained employed with the company as it grew into Verizon Wireless Mobile Communications.
He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. He served as a Special Education teacher and an Elder. He went to church every week with his wife and children. He was a devoted member of the church
He is survived by wife, Terry Lee Mozzi; Daughters, Mie “Mozzi” Boyd, Angela Faye “Mozzi” Morrison, Annette Veronica “Mozzi” Budd, Jacquenette “Mozzi” Fetzner amd Jamie Lynn “Mozzi” Hathorn; son William John Mozzi and son in laws; Kevin Boyd, Timothy Morrison and Michael Fetzner, CarlHathorn, and 22 grandchildren; Krystal Gandrimas, Niki Johnson, Alena Devries, Isabell Devries, Jacob Morrison, Skylar Morrison, Destiny Morrison, Jack Morrison, Rebecca Budd, Kira Budd, Ruth Fetzner, Liz Fetzner, Matthew Mozzi, Dawson Mozzi, Katrina Orange, Caitlin Orange, Ashley Orange, Kaiden Mozzi, River Mozzi, Gaige Mozzi, Faith Hathorn, Grace Hathorn, and 5 great grandchildren, (sisters) Diane Schultz and Dolores Oberg.
His Visitation is on Monday August 15th, 2016 from 3:00PM-9:00PM AT Vandenberg Funeral Home in Mokena Illinois. 19604 S. Wolf Road, Mokena, Illinois 60448 and the funeral services are at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church at 10:00am. The luncheon will be held at the church after the services. The service will be held on Tuesday August 16th, 2016. The funeral procession will go from the church to the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Cemetery full military honors.
