George E. Stevenson

September 3, 1941 — June 16, 2020

George E. Stevenson was born September 3rd 1941 and passed away June 16th 2020 at the age of 78 in his home in Mokena, Illinois.
George enjoyed many things in his life one being his 1964 Chevy. Many time’s he would chauffer his family to Rainbow Ice Cream where everyone had to get out of the car to eat their cones and were not allowed to get back into the car until everyone was all cleaned up. Another joy in his life was fishing. He spent much time fishing on Paw Paw Lake in his younger years, and later spent time with his sons and brother fishing many lakes, rivers, and Lake Somerset. He also enjoyed camping and was at one time a member of the Foresters Camping Club. Many
weekends you would find him hitching up the camper to the back of the van where the family would then join the caravan driving to the next camp ground and looking forward to the evening where all would sit around the giant campfire cooking “pudgy pies and s’mores for the kids not to mention the adults having a drink or two as they sat around the fire telling stories. He had many dogs throughout his life and he loved each and every one of them. George leaves behind his beautiful wife of almost 57 years Mary Catherine Paul Stevenson, his sons David (Alice) Stevenson and Scott Stevenson, his four grandchildren Krystal, Ashley, David, and Patrick
and a great granddaughter Alanna Stock, and many nieces and nephews
He is predeceased by his parents George E. and Lorraine (nee Jones) Stevenson, his son Mark E. Stevenson, sisters Melodee (Bill) Dwyer, Carol Stevenson, and his brother Tom (Paula) Stevenson
