Eugene Gentile

Eugene J. Gentile, age 84, of Orland Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025, surrounded by loving family. Born on October 8, 1940, in Blue Island, Illinois, Eugene lived a full life marked by his dedication, hard work, and commitment to his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne Gentile nèe Labriola, Loving father of, Leberta (Robert Daly) Gentile, Daniel (Laura Jo) Gentile, Pina Gentile. Dear brother of Marilyn Bennett and the late Ronald Gentile. Caring uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Josephine Gentile.

Gene was an avid golfer whose passion for the game led him to become an aspiring golf instructor and Starter at Silver Lake Country Club. Whether he was on the course perfecting his swing or teaching others to love the sport, Gene's enthusiasm was contagious. Off the green, he cherished his role as both grandpa and uncle-spending countless hours with his granddaughters, nieces, and nephews. He was their biggest fan, proudly cheering them on at every game, recital, or event, always showing up with a smile and a heart full of love.

Dad was a loving, kind, and hard-working man with a gift for storytelling. He cherished nothing more than having the whole family together, believing those shared moments were life's greatest gift.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, 8:45 AM at the Vandenberg Funeral Home, 17248 Harlem Avenue, Tinley Park, IL. to St. Michael Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in his honor at 9:30 AM. Entombment will follow in Holy Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park. Visitation will take place at Vandenberg Funeral Home in Tinley Park on Friday, April 25, 2025, 3:00-8:00 PM.
