Esther Stachon (née Lopez) was a kind and gentle soul who touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Raised in Chicago by her loving parents, Guadalupe and Fernando Lopez, Esther carried their values of warmth, strength, and unwavering love throughout her life.
On September 25, 1985, she married the love of her life, Francis "Sonny" Stachon, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family. Esther was a dedicated and hardworking woman, serving as the secretary at Midwest Electrical in Chicago for over 25 years while raising her family. Sonny survives.
She had a heart that knew no bounds, always putting others before herself. Esther was the ultimate mother, offering unconditional love and support to those who called her Mom-James (Yvonne) P. Govea, Vicki A. LaMotte, Linda Tellez, the late Joey A. Govea (who passed exactly three years prior, on February 3, 2022), Lisa (Raul) Juarez, Susan (Chris) Crisp, and Elyce Wright. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren were blessed to call her Grandma and Gi-Gi, a title she wore with love and pride.
Esther's kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit will forever be remembered. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life-bowling, spending time with her family, and offering care and comfort to those she loved most.
Her family and friends will gather to celebrate her life with a visitation on Thursday, February 6, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 17248 Harlem Rd, Tinley Park, IL 60477. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 7, at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Esther's legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
