Dorothy L. Smith

Dorothy Leone (nee Deremer) Smith, age 91, a longtime resident of Tinley Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023. Dorothy was born in Bedford, Pennsylvania, and after graduating from Bedford High School, went on to secretarial school and became a legal secretary. Beloved wife of the late William David Smith, devoted mother of Steven (Mary Rose) Smith, Robert Smith, Karen Gail (Brad Bosch) Ishii, Sara Ann (late Christopher) Sherman and Jan (William) Sisk. Loving sister of AnnaBell, Alvin, Walter, Milton, Ernest, Frank, and Clyde. Cherished grandmother of Jeremy (Elizabeth), Valerie (David), Stefanie, Jennifer (Steven), Michelle, Amy (Kevin), Daniel (Laura), Jill, Heather (Christopher), Brett, and Kurt. Proud great-grandmother of Joey, Paul, Lindsay, Jason, twins Annabelle and Benjamin, Ethan, Owen, Abigail and Andrew. Dorothy was an active lifelong member of the Tinley Park United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Baker’s Union.
Memorial Service will be held at Tinley Park United Methodist Church on March 18 at 1:00 pm. Cremation private. In lieu of flowers, donations to be made to the Tinley Park United Methodist Church https://www.tinleymethodist.org/
