Dorothy C. McAllister nee Michaelsen, age 94, late of Tinley Park. Beloved wife of the late Raymond E. McAllister. Loving mother of Ray (Carol), late Robert, Jack (Mary Jane), Dot (Dave) Bayless, Dan (Nancy), and the late Jim. Caring grandmother of Kim (Fiance Mat Kraklau ), Mike, Brad, Kelly (Joe) Broms, Christina (Andy) Meinen, late Shannon Bayless, David (Jenni) Bayless, Brandee (Nick) Anderson, Bob (Kristen) Bayless, Dan, and Joe. Proud great grandmother of Christopher, Elizabeth, Mary, Teresa, late Gabriel, Catherine, Clare, John, Kali, Abby, Autumn and Robby. Dorothy was born and raised in South Dakota on a farm; she moved to Chicago, where she pursued a career in Nursing, she was a LPN for Shriners and Children’s Hospital. After marrying Raymond, she raised 6 children on their farm. She was a longtime resident of Tinley Park, and a parishioner of St. George Church since 1950. She was very active and dedicated to St. George Church and School. After raising her children, Dorothy continued her career in Healthcare as a dietician. Visitation will be held Friday, June 12, 2015, from 9:00-11:00 AM, at Vandenberg Funeral Home 17248 S. Harlem Avenue Tinley Park, IL 60477. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. George Church, Mass 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
