Chester D. Ebert age 95, died April 16, 2014 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno, IL. He is survived by his children Barbara Quinn, David (Deborah) Ebert, Mark (Mary) Ebert, Ruth Welzen and Miriam (Tim) Wilson. Proud grandfather of 13 and great grandfather of 6. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Dear brother in law of Marion (Roy) Ebert. Preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, son in law David Welzen, brothers Harold (Lois), Edmund (Velma), Walter, Carl, Lewis (Lois), Roy and sister Irene (Bill) Smith. Chester Was born on a farm east of Mokena, IL. on August 18, 1918 the sixth of eight children to Louis and Caroline nee Hohenstein. He attended Summit Hill grade school and 2 years at the Mokena High School. In 1941 Chester enlisted in the Army Air Corp and served until 1945, and attained the rank of Staff Sgt. On March 22, 1947 Chester married Dorothy Hoger and they started both their family and business partnership together. For nearly 40 years they supplied area framers with their business, Ebert Farm Service. Chester served on many church boards at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mokena, IL. as well as the Mokena School Board, the Mokena Village Board and Will County Farm Bureau Board. A special thank you to Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno, IL. where Chester was a resident since October 14, 2009. Thanks to Hospice of Kankakee Valley for their kindness in his last days.
