Beth Goebig Zitko
Born into this world on June 27, 1956. Late of Cicero, formerly of Mokena and Chicago, IL. Beth
passed away peacefully on May 27, 2017, with her family by her side, after a courageous battle
with cancer.
Beth was a devoted wife of 27 years to Thomas “Zeke” Zitko. Dear sister of Roy (Carol),
Thomas, David, Michael (Caitlin); and sisters, Linda (Mike) Boyd and Debbie (Rob) Pawluk.
Proud godmother to Jenna Goebig Komnenich and Rachel Pawluk. Loving aunt to many nieces,
nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Dorothy and brothers, Charles and Gary.
Beth met Tom, the love of her life, while bowling at Marina Towers in downtown Chicago in
1975. They married in one of their favorite places, Las Vegas, on Halloween night in 1989.
Beth was a devoted Chicago sports fan and realized a lifelong dream of witnessing the Cubs
win the World Series in 2016. She enjoyed spending time at the family campground, traveling to
visit friends and family, and regularly outsmarting the contestants on Wheel of Fortune. Beth
was a loyal employee of Morgan Stanley for nearly 40 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Cervivor, a cervical cancer advocacy group that supported Beth
during her fight, are appreciated. Visit cervivor.org/donate to contribute.
