Barbara J. Schneider, age 90, late of Braidwood, IL, passed away February 1, 2025. She was born on January 22, 1935 in Chicago, IL. Beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, beach mimi, and gigi.
Barb met her husband Bill while they were in High School. They married when Bill enlisted in the Army to serve in the Korean War. Barb worked at the Chicago Stockyard Office while he was gone. They began a family when Bill returned and decided to move from Chicago to Mokena.
Barb had a career in sales with the PennySaver and Chicago Tribune while raising 5 children. Keeping up with her adventurous husband Bill, they retired to life on their boat. After a few years they needed a home base, they settled on a condo in Gulf Shores, AL where they made lifelong friends. Now they traveled the U.S. with those friends and numerous states on their own.
Barb was married to Bill for 50 years before he passed away in 2002. She came back home to her children in 2014 to spend her elder years. She never slowed down, traveling with family and making new friends. The last 6 months of her life were quiet, but she never lost that sunny smile.
Barb is survived by her children- Debby Bell, Bill Schneider, Dawn (Dan) Senesac, and Sandi (Dave) Liker. Wonderful grandchildren-Meghann (Matt) Wright, Scott (Alyssa) Schneider, Michael (Hilary) Schneider, Christy (Jake) Yard, Adam (Laurie) Bell, Robert Fischer, Daniel Senesac, Reid Senesac, Katrina (Michael) Provance, Alexandra (David) Knoph, Rylee (Joseph) Zegley, Cole (Jenna) Senesac, and David Liker Jr. Cherished great-grandchildren-Kyotee McNeil, Saige McNeill, Mason Schneider, Evan Schneider, Jackson Schneider, Mason Yard, Tucker Yard, Kail Bell, Landon Bell, Emery Provance, Duke Provance, Juniper Knoph, Amelia Zegley, and Wes Zegley.
Barb has joined her husband William “Bill” Schneider, son Scott Schneider, grandson William “Billy” Schneider, sister Betty Klein, and mom Florence Morz in heaven.
