Linda Husted

September 6, 1948 — January 20, 2016

Linda Husted (nee Gebel), 67, passed away too young on January 20, 2016. Linda grew up on the south side of Chicago where she met her husband, John Husted. After they were married, they bought their first home in Evergreen Park and proudly raised their only son Michael. Linda ultimately called Tinley Park home. Linda’s first priority was her family, especially her granddaughter Riley and her grandson Nick. Linda had a strong competitive spirit when it came to playing board games, which she made sure would take place at every family gathering. Her jar full of pennies was always ready for a game of POKENO. Linda enjoyed shopping, attending musicals, reading and baking birthday cakes and cookies for her grandchildren. Her perpetually filled candy dish will be missed. Linda’s life was filled with special family and many true, close friends and neighbors that she cherished. Linda is preceded in death by husband John Husted, parents Nola Jean and Robert Gebel, and brother John Gebel. She is survived by son Michael (Julianne) Husted, beloved grandchildren Riley and Nickolas Husted and brother James (Sharon) Gebel. Visitation Saturday, January 30 from 1-4pm at Vandenberg Funeral Home 17248 S. Harlem Avenue, Tinley Park, IL 60477. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
