Karen A. Cummings

Karen A. Cummings, nee Conley, age 78, late of Mokena, IL, passed away September 23, 2023. She was born on November 26, 1944, in Evergreen Park, IL. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Church for several years. Karen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who dedicated herself to her immediate and extended family. She was a loyal friend to many and was known for her fun-loving personality and quick wit. Karen had a passion for current events, reading, and crossword puzzles. She was also a talented athlete and a former competitively ranked tennis player who played games against the likes of Billie Jean King and Yvonne Goolagong.

She enjoyed playing tennis, swimming, walking on the beach, and playing bridge and euchre. In her career, Karen served as a Tennis Instructor at Beverly, Midlothian, Rivera, and Woodmar Country Club. She also worked as a Sales Representative for Shirley Enterprises and Johnson & Johnson.

Beloved wife of Richard J. Cummings for 52 years. Loving mother of Cara (Barry) Pollard, Katie (Chris) Covalle and Richard (Teri) Cummings. Cherished grandmother of Conley, Griffin, and Kendall Pollard, Jackson and Gavin Covalle. Caring sister of the late Catherine Akal, late Martin Conley, and Barbara Conley. Dear daughter of the late Erma and Martin Conley. Treasured aunt of several nieces and nephews.

Visitation, Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 19515 115th Ave. Mokena, IL 60448. Interment will be Private.
