Proud grandmother of William Gaynor Jr., Jean (Jason) Gaynor-Jasas, Patrick (Elizabeth) Gaynor, Jeremy Burns, Erin (Alan) Nolan, Brendan (Justice) Burns, Gerald III (Olivia) Burns, Brian (Audrey) Burns, Emily Burns, Patrick Nolan, Molly Nolan, Connor Burns and Nolan Burns. Great grandmother of 8. Dear daughter of the late Elsie Louise and Charles Arthur Hebner. Sister of the late Charles Hebner, Harry Goulding, Helen Honan and Robert Goulding. At peace on 2/6/2025.
Charlene was a dedicated and hardworking employee with a strong work ethic that she passed on to her children. In earlier years she and her sister Helen owned a custom lamp shade shop on 79th Street in Chicago. She was a trusted employee of Illinois Bell and Houlihan's Irish Hutch. She was involved in St. Gerald's Parish Showtime and a co-leader of Oak Lawn Shamrocks 4H Club. In later years she enjoyed helping take care of her grandchildren, knitting prayer shawls for those in need and she created some beautiful quilts. She was a skilled seamstress. Proud member of the Oak Lawn Dinette's. Charlene, along with her sense of humor will be deeply missed by those who loved her. She now lives eternally with those she missed dearly, especially her high school sweetheart Gerry and her loving son Gerry Jr.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at the Vandenberg Funeral Home, 17248 Harlem Avenue, Tinley Park, IL, 3:00-8:00 PM. Funeral to commence Wednesday, February 12, 2025, 9:15 AM at the Funeral Home to St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church for Mass of Chrisitan Burial 10:00 AM. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
