William A. Koenig Jr.

William A. Koenig Jr., age 83, late of Orland Park, IL, passed away on May 5, 2024, after battling with Leukemia. William was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. William was a lifeguard at the Chicago beaches while growing up. He worked for the UAW Union and after retirement he began to work at multiple schools. William became very active and belonged to 2 health clubs, 3 bowling leagues, and belonged to the public library where he would take classes. He was an avid swimmer. William was always fortunate to have such amazing neighbors, who checked in on him often and had many morning cups of coffee together. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Beloved husband of the late Darlene Koenig. Loving father of; Linda (Michael) Rendak, Brian (David), and Kristin (the late Neil) Messino. Cherished grandfather of Jessica (Jerrid) Wagenschutz, Niko (Coutney) Messino, Neil (Amber) Messino Jr. Cherished great grandfather of James and Enzo. Caring brother of David (Darlene), Russell (Joann), Kenneth, Darlene, Robert (Marlene), Leonard, Richard, and Sandra (Thomas) Lara. Dear son of the late William Sr. and the late Violet Koenig. Charming brother-in-law of many. Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews.
