Harry Vernon Anderson, age 96, late of Tinley Park, IL, passed away after a long fulfilling life on September 4, 2022 at his residence, Tinley Court Catered Living Facility. Harry proudly served our country as a pilot and navigator with the United States Air Corp. He worked at Republic Steel, Reynold’s Metals, and finally as a Mechanical Estimator with J.M. Foster before his retirement. Harry was an avid golfer, he loved working on home projects, and tinkering with his various cars. He was also known to occasionally enjoy a well-made Manhattan. Beloved husband of the late Marylin Rose (nee O’Keefe) Anderson. Cherished son of the late Werner and Ellen (nee Pearson) Anderson. Loving father of Gay (Matt) Baker, Kyle (Ruth) Anderson, Dale (Colette) Anderson, Bruce (Joan) Anderson. Caring grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Caring brother of the late Vera Zumph. Visitation, Friday, September 9, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 17248 S. Harlem Ave. Tinley Park, IL 60477. Burial, Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Misericordia Heart of Mercy Home, in care of his grandson Michael Anderson.
